Parakeet Privacy Policy
The short version: Parakeet collects nothing about you. Everything you save stays on your device.
Last updated: 6 August 2026 · Parakeet for iOS, published by Ascend Solutions, Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
What the app stores, and where
Clips, library entries, labels and files you save are stored only on your iPhone or iPad, in the app's private container and, for stashed files, in the app's own folder in the Files app on the same device. They are never uploaded, synced, or transmitted anywhere. There are no accounts, no servers, and no databases operated by us.
What we collect
Nothing about you or your content. The app contains no analytics, no tracking, and no advertising SDKs, and it makes no network requests to us. We cannot see your clips, your files, or anything about you. The one identifier the app creates, a random purchase ID explained under Purchases, contains nothing personal and never touches our servers, because we don't have any.
The keyboard extension
The optional Parakeet keyboard requests “Allow Full Access” for exactly one reason: iOS requires it for a keyboard to read the app's shared on-device storage, where your saved clips live. The keyboard does not log keystrokes, does not access the network, and never transmits anything. What you type belongs to you.
The share extension
Content you send to the app via the share sheet is written directly to the same on-device storage. It is not transmitted anywhere.
Purchases
Parakeet Pro can be bought as an auto-renewing subscription (monthly or yearly; the yearly plan may include a free trial) or as a one-time lifetime unlock, sometimes at a discount offered inside the app. Every purchase is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store: Apple handles billing, renewals, trials and cancellation through your Apple Account settings, and we never see your payment details. Apple's own privacy policy governs the transaction. The app checks your purchase status with Apple's StoreKit framework on-device.
When you buy, the app attaches a random purchase ID to the transaction record that Apple keeps. This ID is a string of random characters generated on your device and stored in its Keychain. It is not derived from you or your data, contains nothing personal, and identifies only the app installation that made the purchase, so a purchase can be matched to its installation if you ever contact us about billing, refunds, or restoring access. It is the only thing the app ever adds to a record outside your device, and it is never used for advertising or shared with anyone but Apple.
Your clipboard
iOS asks for permission before the app reads your system clipboard, and shows a notice whenever any app pastes. Parakeet only reads the system clipboard when you explicitly tap a save or paste button.
Children
The app does not collect personal data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new date. Since everything the app stores lives on your device, meaningful changes are unlikely.
